One of my absolute favorite quotes comes from President Nelson in the 2018 April conference, he said,  “I urge you to stretch beyond your current spiritual ability to receive personal revelation. In coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting and constant influence of the Holy Ghost.”

Since President Nelson gave this talk, “Revelation for the Church, Revelation for Our Lives,” this statement has been at the forefront of my mind.  The prophet of God was URGING me to do something!  I felt like I needed to implement this ASAP! But how?  I was already reading my scriptures, saying my prayers and attending church.  So how was I going to stretch myself?  I already felt overwhelmed with what was on my plate as a mother, working full time and trying to connect with my husband. To top it off, I didn’t even really understand the scriptures very much, the language was really hard for me. My prayers were lackluster, repetitive and almost felt like a daily duty just to protect myself and loved ones. So this statement came as a big push. I knew something needed to change! I couldn’t go on with life feeling like I was on a hamster wheel doing more and more but getting nowhere.

There has to be a Better Way.

I decided to start looking at personal study guides I could use to help me understand the scriptures more deeply. I did the seminary ones, institute ones and even scripture commentaries. I attended conferences and studied how others were feeling this connection. As I tried various ways to study, understand, and seek guidance, I took bits and pieces from various sources. I found that it was important for me to write down how I saw the hand of God in my life daily.

I saw power in asking for help with my day from the Lord. I saw direct revelation coming as I was able to seek specific questions in my study and my ability to receive revelation grew as I wrote down my thoughts during my study and prayer.

What came of this was my Seeking Personal Revelation Journal.

Well originally it was called my Outline for Seeking Revelation. Back in 2019 when I was using this outline to align my will with God, receive His guidance daily and deepen my connection with God I started to feel God guiding me in the direction of building a business. I wasn’t sure what that was going to look like but I knew that as I used my tools I had developed I could trust God to guide me. So I just put one foot in front of the other and started trusting God daily to guide me on what I needed to do.

All of the sudden I heard a voice plain as day tell me,

“you have to share this.”

My business originally started out as teaching mental health skills to anyone that needed them. It had nothing to do with spirituality or religion.  About 1 week before I launched my business, I was doing my outline that I do every morning to have more meaningful prayers and scripture study and hear God’s voice for me that day. All of the sudden I heard a voice plain as day tell me “you have to share this.”

I had never had that happen to me before. I have never heard a voice so clearly and know exactly what I needed to do. I immediately threw together the outline with instructions in about an hour.

The Outline had multiple daily spiritual methods to fit anyone's daily needs. This wasn’t a one size fits all product. I knew I wanted anyone in any circumstance to use this. It also had an easy framework to promote more meaningful prayer, by recording promptings when they come during your connection time with God.

Seeing the Hand of God

One of my favorite frameworks that it had was a way to see the hand of God in your life daily. That has helped me a ton in recognizing God is always there helping me. This trust is also developed through the simple, daily gratitude practice to strengthen your relationship to God. The tools from the outline help you to connect with each member of the Godhead daily and receive their powers in your day.

After I put it together, it took me a couple weeks to figure out the printing and selling portion of this but it came together. I even had some really awesome feedback from people who were using it.  Raechel Duplain said,

“My prayers have gone from following a very similar pattern each day to being unique, more heartfelt, and more intentional. It has also helped me be prayerful before my scripture study and learn how to recognize the Spirit teaching me during my studies. I was trying for a long time to create a morning spiritual routine that worked and this journal has finally helped me do it and it is SO easy.”

Over the course of the next year as I continued to align my will with God my business morphed into a more specific niche that it is now. I now help LDS women receive revelation so they can prioritize their day through the spirit, help their loved ones by hearing Him and learn to receive Christ’s enabling power to do all they are asked to do by God. I am so grateful for the spiritual breadcrumbs that God has left me to find this place that He wants me to be right here and I 100% attribute that to the consistent efforts I do daily in seeking personal revelation.

About 6 months ago I felt the prompting to update the Outline for Seeking Revelation and to add some more things God has taught me along the way. I added a 10 day social media fast with prompts to record your insights after your time away. I also added weekly revelation reviews to look back and see where your heart has been led and how God has been in your life. I even changed the format to being a 90 day journal. Not to push you into completing it in 90 days but to show you what’s possible in 90 days of seeking personal revelation even if it takes 365 days to get those 90 in. You now have them contained in one spot and can see your progress. Reviewing and seeing your progress spiritually can motivate you to continue on the path you're on.  I see so many women doing so many amazing things but not recognizing their efforts so they get burnt out and quit. So I added a pre and post review so you can see where you started and the growth that happened over the course of the 90 days of seeking personal revelation.

I want you to feel what Paige Hoyt felt after using my journal. She said,

“Using Niki’s journal was a game changer for me!  It brought my prayers into laser focus and in return, I started seeing the hand of my Savior in my everyday life. I could see Him giving me “line upon line” revelation personally to me.”
